DocRaptor alternative: render-bolt
Chromium-based HTML to PDF at a much lower price per document, for invoices, receipts and reports that do not need a print-layout engine.
Price for the same volume
| Service | Plan | Per 1,000 | Per month | Included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| render-bolt Starter | Starter | $0.60 | $15 | 25,000 renders |
| render-bolt Growth | Growth | $0.39 | $39 | 100,000 renders |
| DocRaptor Basic | Basic | $120.00 | $15 | 125 documents |
| DocRaptor Professional | Professional | $89.23 | $29 | 325 documents |
The Basic quota comes from a third-party listing; DocRaptor does not charge extra for large documents. From DocRaptor's public pages, checked October 2026: docraptor.com, toolradar.com, www.capterra.com, docraptor.com.
What both do
- HTML or a URL to PDF
- Page size, margins, headers and footers
- The file comes back in the response
- One document counts once, however long it is
Where DocRaptor is stronger
- The Prince engine, with full CSS Paged Media: footnotes, cross-references, page groups and running headers
- Accessible tagged PDFs (PDF/UA-1), plus PDF/A and PDF/X profiles
- Excel output, encrypted PDFs and PDF forms
- Asynchronous jobs of up to 10 minutes, and hosted documents
- A 99.99% uptime guarantee
Choose DocRaptor if you print books, legal or accessible documents that need Paged Media, PDF/UA or PDF/A, or you need an uptime guarantee.
Where render-bolt fits
- Real Chromium: the PDF matches what the page looks like in Chrome
- 25,000 documents for $15 a month
- Screenshots and Markdown extraction on the same key
- No overage billing: requests stop at your quota with a clear error
Choose render-bolt if your documents already look right in Chrome and you make a lot of them: invoices, receipts, tickets and reports.

Questions
Is render-bolt a drop-in replacement for DocRaptor?
Not a drop-in: DocRaptor renders with Prince, render-bolt with Chromium. Documents styled for Prince-only CSS (footnotes, cross-references) need changes. Documents that already look right in Chrome usually come out the same.
How much cheaper is it than DocRaptor?
render-bolt Starter costs $15 for 25,000 renders ($0.60 per 1,000). DocRaptor Basic lists $15 for 125 documents ($120.00 per 1,000), checked October 2026.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. The free plan has 100 renders a month with every feature and needs no card.
